A very enjoyable performance. I have attended many operas and ballets, especially in Europe and NYC, and am pleased to say that the Louisville 2023 Nutracker has been one of the finest shows i have ever seen. Bravo!!!

I loved the new staging of the Nutcracker. The dance of the sugarplum fairy was especially wonderful. The dancers were beautifully in sync, down to the very ends of their fingers. Ryo Suzuki was great as the Cavalier.

I haven't been to the Nutcracker since 2008. We had young children to take to more age appropriate theater. This yesr with a 10 yo granddaughter we headed to the Nutcracker ballet. I had read the Nutcracker book so she was familiar with the story. What a major, major disappointment to see that Clara was out ND Marie and Fritz were now the stars. I attended Saturday afternoon and there were plenty of empty seats and no standing ovation. Tickets still available for every performance. The dance was amazing of course but I know my daughter and granddaughter won't be back. The couple next to us won't be back. They had seen Barbie Nutcracker. Terribly disappointed in a performance that won't be resumed as an annual tradition. Would recommend only with a caution.
